Kappa League
The Kappa League empowers young men, 6th – 12th grades, by providing cultural exposure, leadership training, and mentoring. Through engaging activities, members develop planning, execution, and leadership skills, elevating their ambitions. The program guides participants in academic achievement and career exploration to help them unlock their full potential.



Kappa Cardinal Athletic Association
The Kappa Cardinals Athletic Association extends far beyond mere physical activity. It fosters teamwork, discipline, leadership, and perseverance. Through team sports, the Association provides opportunities for social interaction, skill development, and healthy competition while promoting physical health, mental well-being, and overall character development. The athletic programs instill important life skills and values that contribute to the holistic growth and development of over 200 young men and young ladies each year.
Members of the Hampton-Newport News (VA) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity, Inc. provide essential administrative support and oversight. While the Achievement Foundation provides crucial financial support for the Association. Catering to ages 5 to 18, the Association partners with the City of Hampton and the City of Newport News Departments of Parks and Recreation. The Association boasts four youth football teams, three cheer squads, and nine basketball teams. Through participation, athletes discover the joy of sportsmanship and camaraderie!
Scholarships
The Hampton Newport News Achievement Foundation, in partnership with the Hampton-Newport News (VA) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., is dedicated to fostering academic excellence. The Chapter established a merit-based scholarship program to assist students in pursuing higher education and technical training. The Chapter began partnering with the Foundation to support students across the Peninsula through scholarships that are competitively awarded to graduating high school seniors and matriculating college students in Hampton, Newport News, Gloucester, York County, and Williamsburg-James County. Eligibility extends to active Hampton Newport News Kappa Leaguers residing both on the peninsula and beyond.

Community Service
Alongside the Hampton-Newport News (VA) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., the Achievement Foundation is involved in a variety of impactful community service projects. From spreading joy with Toys for Tots, brightening spirits through Angel Tree, and supporting Healthy Families initiatives, our collaboration is dedicated to making a positive impact in our community.
